Goutam concentrates his practice on intellectual property and commercial matters, focusing on patent and trademark disputes. He has particularly deep experience with Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and litigation in key patent venues such as the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Texas, the District of Delaware, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.  He has litigated matters involving a variety of industries and technologies, including intraoral digital scanner technology, digital audio processing, integrated circuit design, sucralose manufacturing, online medical monitoring systems, interactive online lottery products, and wireless technology.  His transactional experience includes negotiating and drafting licensing agreements for the development, use and maintenance of software applications in the banking and insurance industries, as well as patent licenses and other IP-related agreements.  Goutam is currently teaching ITC Policy and Procedure as an adjunct professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University and is a member of the executive committee of the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association, including serving as its President for the 2019-2020 term.
