Professor Jay Tidmarsh

Professor Tidmarsh is a Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School where he teaches principally in the areas of civil procedure, complex civil litigation, federal courts, torts, civil rights, constitutional law, and remedies. He has also served as the Chair of the Association of American Law School's Section on Civil Procedure and as a member of its Committee on Professional Development. He is the author or co-author of six books, including casebooks on civil procedure and complex litigation. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1982. Before joining the Notre Dame faculty in 1989, he practiced as a trial attorney with the Torts Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Professor Tidmarsh is a member of the American Law Institute, and has served as Visiting Professor of Law at Michigan Law School in 2000 and at Harvard Law School in 2003.
Jay Tidmarsh is on the Advisory Board for The Sedona Conference.
