Judge Tennille is a Member Manager of Black Swan ADR, LLC, after he retired from the bench in March 2011. Judge Tennille was first sworn in as the first Special Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases in North Carolina in 1996, the first state-wide business court in the nation. In 2005, he was appointed to Chief Judge of the Business Court. In establishing the Business Court, Judge Tennille designed a model paperless court, which employs a free electronic filing system using the Internet, and was one of the first successful court e-filing systems in the country. Judge Tennille is a member of The Sedona ConferenceŽ Working Group on Electronic Document Retention & Production (WG1) and he currently serves as Advisor to the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
