James is a partner with Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP in Calgary, where his practise focuses on intellectual property and technology, including IT, the Internet and software, privacy, licensing, e-commerce, new media and electronic records and evidence. He is a former president of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to his practise, James is a lecturer in business law with Athabasca University in its online MBA program and is the author of a chapter in a recently published textbook on e-Discovery in Canada (LexisNexis). He is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada.
