Prof. Stephen A. Saltzburg
George Washington University Law Center, Washington, DC.
Prof. Saltzburg has been the Howrey Professor of Trial Advocacy,
Litigation and Professional Responsibility at the George Washington University Law
School since 1990. Before that, he taught at the University of Virginia Law School
from 1972-1990. In 1996, Professor Saltzburg founded and became the Director of
a new Masters Program in Litigation and Dispute Resolution at George
Washington. He also served as Reporter for and then as a member of the Advisory
Committee on the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, as a member of the
Advisory Committee on the Federal Rules of Evidence, and as the Reporter for the
Civil Justice Reform Act Committee for the District of Columbia District Court
and then Chair of that Committee. Professor Saltzburg has served as a Special
Master in two class action cases in the District of Columbia District Court, and
continues to serve as a mediator for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of
Columbia. During 2001-2002, he served on the ABA Task Force on Terrorism and
the Law, and the ABA Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession.
Stephen A. Saltzburg is on the Advisory Board for The Sedona Conference.
