Alan's practice focuses on class actions, mass tort, pharmaceutical and drug device, product, and toxic litigation, as well as commercial, First Amendment, and constitutional litigation. He has been involved in chemical, pharmaceutical product, and toxic exposure litigation since joining the firm in 1975. Alan has served as chair of the ABA Environmental Litigation Committee, the Toxic Tort and Environmental Litigation Committee of the ABA Section of Energy and Environmental Law, and currently Chairs the Mass Torts Litigation Committee. He is also on the Board of Editors of three nationally prominent publications in the toxic tort area, and has published extensively on a wide variety of issues raised in toxic tort and mass product litigation. Alan's special skills include expert evidence and medical causation issues in product, pharmaceutical and environmental litigation, and he is head of the firm's ADR Practice Group.
