Matt is a partner in Weil Gotshal's Silicon Valley office, co-chair of its 500-member Litigation/Regulatory Department and on the Firm's Management Committee. He specializes in trying patent and trade secret cases all over the world involving a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor devices, manufacturing equipment and processes; DNA sequencing; medical devices and other biotechnologies; computer hardware and software; network communications and telephony; and the Internet. Matt is also an Editor-in-Chief of Intellectual Property & Technology Law Journal and has published extensively on various aspects of intellectual property law and litigation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and in 2008 he was singled out by Chambers USA as a "Star Performer," calling him "king of the jungle...a master trial litigator and a genius when it comes to patents... fantastically clever and exceptionally talented." In 2007, The American Lawyer described Matt as a "bona fide litigation superstar." The National Law Journal named him one of the top ten litigators in the country in 2006, and in 2005 the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association named him "Trial Lawyer of the Year."
