M. Laurence Popofsky

Larry joined the firm in 1962 and is a member of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice Group. He has participated in a variety of antitrust, securities fraud and intellectual property matters and has argued two cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, a half dozen in the California Supreme Court and approximately 70 others in various appellate courts. Larry was the first Heller Ehrman member to be elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers. Larry is best known for his antitrust practice, including his landmark victory in the U.S. Supreme Court in Continental T.V, Inc., et al v. GTE Sylvania, Inc. More recently, he has led his firm's litigation teams representing Visa USA in litigation involving Dean Witter, Discover and American Express. Larry's practice has encompassed all aspects of antitrust jurisprudence both state and federal, court and agency alike.
