Vivian is a partner at Dewey & LeBoeuf and heads its intellectual property and technology practice group. As counsel to one of the first major online service providers and numerous Web site owners and content providers, Vivian has been involved with information technology and Internet industry pioneers since 1985. She has worked on both the legal and business sides with Internet, software, and other high-tech companies, from start-up phases through initial public offerings and into maturity, as well as established "brick and mortar" companies that rely on various forms of information technology. Vivian regularly advises clients on the development and use of software and online technologies, document management and e-discovery, information security and business continuity, intellectual property and domain name disputes and transfers, online sales and marketing, privacy policies covering US and EU privacy concerns, digital signatures, hypertext links, defamation, and employee use of interactive media. She is a members of The Sedona ConferenceŽ Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production and co-chair of its Legacy Data Special Project Team.
