Vance is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Key Investment, Inc., the former President of West Publishing Company, and currently is a Member of the Board of Directors of The Thomson Corporation. He is the founder and former senior partner of Opperman & Paquin, and held his position until becoming President of West in 1993. Vance was named to the 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America in 1991 and as one of the nation’s Top Litigators in 1992 by the National Law Journal, as well as one of the top twenty-five winningest litigators by Minnesota Lawyer in 1991. He served on President Clinton’s National Information Infrastructure Advisory Council from January, 1994 through January, 1996.
