Dr. Hiroshi Miyashita

Dr. Miyashita is active in the areas of protection of personal information, consumer protection, e-commerce, and a variety of international privacy related matters. He is currently a member of the committee for the international privacy protection under Cabinet Office, and also served for the Prime Minister's Task Force on Safety of Consumer Life during 2008. Besides his practical experiences as a privacy officer at Cabinet Office, Dr. Miyashita is an academic expert on constitutional law and information law, working as a research fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, as a visiting scholar at Duke University School of Law, and as a visiting researcher at the University of Edinburgh School of Law. He teaches Constitutional Law, Anglo-American Law, and Information Law at Surugadai University.
