Philippos is a Greek native who has worked as Seconded National Expert in the Data Protection Unit and Directorate General for Justice, Freedom & Security, of the European Commission since 2006. From 1999 to 2006 he worked as a legal officer at the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, representing the DPA in the Article 29 Working Party and the Schengen Joint Supervisory Authority. Philippos has been Secretary General of the Scientific Council on Information Society (Greece), a founding member of the Hellenic Branch of International Law Association, and a member of the Hellenic League of Human Rights and the Human Rights Defence Center (Greece). He has written many articles on data protection in Greek law reviews and has participated as speaker at several international conferences.
