Matt serves as the Republican Chief Counsel for Crime and Terrorism on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Prior to joining the Judiciary Committee in April 2006, Matt served as counsel for the Senate's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Before coming to the Senate, Matt was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of Alabama, where he served as the office's Corporate Fraud Coordinator. Matt also worked in Philadelphia as a litigation associate with Dechert LLP. After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, he clerked for the late United States District Judge Richard W. Vollmer, Jr.
