Mr. McDermott served in the Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney and as Associate Deputy Attorney General. In private practice he has handled a wide-range of civil cases, most recently serving as National Coordinating Counsel for a tobacco company in the state cost recovery actions filed against the tobacco industry.
