David is a registered patent attorney, and General Counsel to the Better Business Bureau of Chicago. He was the recipient of the Bureau's Torch of Integrity Award in 1999. As a member of the International AD Hoc Committee (IAHC) and chair of the Policy Oversight Committee (POC), David was one of the drafters of what later became the ICANN Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP). He served as Vice President – Public Policy of the Internet Society, and is now Chairman of the Board of the Public Interest Registry, a nonprofit corporation responsible for management of the registry of the .org top level domain. David is a member of the American Law Institute, AIPLA, the Computer Law Association and the International Trademark Association.
