Ned is a partner with the law firm of Pepper Hamilton LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is chair of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Commission on State Judicial Selection Standards and a member of the ABA's Standing Committee on Judicial Independence. He is the past chair of the ABA's Standing Committee on Federal Judicial Improvements and served in 1997 as chair of the ABA Commission on Separation of Powers and Judicial Independence. He is Chair of The Judiciary Committee of the American College of Trial lawyers and past chair and present Member of the College's Complex Litigation Committee. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Trail Lawyers. His practice includes the defense of complex litigation and mass torts and is a frequent lecturer on those subjects.
