Emery is a senior research associate at the Federal Judicial Center. Prior to joining the FJC, he was the 2005-06 Supreme Court Fellow at the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. From 2003-05, Emery was assistant professor of political science and law at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He has published on many topics in both political science journals and law reviews, including the Journal of Politics, Justice System Journal, and University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Emery served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 2001-02 and as editor-in-chief of the Case Western Reserve law review.
