Monica is a partner at Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, LLP in Dallas, Texas, where she practices in the area of business litigation at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts throughout the country, including commercial disputes, employment law, professional liability, construction litigation, fiduciary obligations, insurance litigation, and trade secret litigation. She has extensive experience advising clients concerning issues relating to the hiring and departure of employees, including covenants not to compete and misappropriation. Monica earned her law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, and has a bachelor of science from Trinity University in computer science and philosophy, where she graduated summa cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1) and a frequent lecturer in matters involving civil procedure governing trials and the discovery process, including in particular electronic discovery.
