Judge Hochberg has been United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey since 1999. She has a distinguished career in public service. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Hochberg was United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States Department of the Treasury, Senior Deputy Chief Counsel in the Office of Thrift Supervision, an Assistant United States Attorney, and Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission. Judge Hochberg was also a partner in the private practice of law and law clerk to the Hon. Spottswood Robinson III.
