Renata is a partner in Wilson Sonsini's antitrust practice, Having served previously as the chief of the Networks and Technology Enforcement Section of the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. Renata is considered one of the country's preeminent technology antitrust attorneys and was responsible for some of the most significant antitrust litigation brought by the Department of Justice in the last decade, including the DOJ's litigation with Oracle Corporation in connection with its proposed acquisition of PeopleSoft and with First Data Corporation in connection with its proposed acquisition of Concord EFS. In addition, Renata worked extensively on the DOJ's litigation against American Airlines for predatory conduct and Microsoft Corporation for illegal maintenance of its monopoly in Intel-compatible PC operating systems. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Renata practiced at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP in San Francisco, California, where her work primarily focused on complex litigation involving intellectual property and antitrust issues in technology industries.
