William H. Herr

Bill Herr has been the Manager of the Discovery Expertise Center in Dow's Legal Department since its inception in 2003, where he is responsible for developing and implementing Dow's paper and electronic discovery systems and associated procedures. In 2005 Bill assumed additional responsibility as Manager of Dow's Preferred Counsel Program. Bill is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has led or participated in several Six Sigma projects in Dow's Legal Department. He is co-author of the chapter "Litigation Management by Corporations" in Business and Commercial Litigation In Federal Courts (2d ed. R. Haig ed. 2005), and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Product Liability Advisory Council. He is also a member of The Sedona ConferenceŽ Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1) and the Working Group on International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure (WG6). An attorney at Dow for 25 years, Bill has spent most of his career managing complex environmental, product liability, and insurance coverage litigation before assuming his current responsibilities. Additional positions have included roles as Division Counsel for Dow's operations in California and as General Counsel for a former Dow subsidiary. Bill joined Dow in 1980 following graduation from the University Of Detroit School Of Law.
