Damon Greer
U.S. Department of Commerce, Washington DC
Damon directs the U.S.-E.U. and Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks for the United States Department of Commerce. In that role, he oversees bilateral discussions with the European Commission, the Article 29 Working Party, and the Swiss data protection authority. Damon has organized the United States' participation in annual conferences with the European Commission and has supported the business community's efforts to articulate their positions on many data protection concerns. In addition, he has given presentations that address a number of data privacy topics including e-discovery, human resources, and background investigations. Damon's previous duties have included covering privacy issues for the World Summit of the Information Society, privacy and cross border data flows under the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, and emerging data protection issues for the Russian Federation, Central and South America, and Canada.
