Alan is a solo practitioner in McLean, having completed 39 years with a large Boston and Washington, DC, law firm. He is Past President of the American Health Lawyers Association, a past co-chair of the Health Law Section and a member of the Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee of the DC Bar, a member of the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Law and Technology, a member of the Council of the Health Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association, a co-chair of the Health Technology Committee of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and an Adjunct Professor of Health Law at George Mason University. Alan served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Navy, where his interest in law, health care, and technology began.
