Judge Gajarsa was born in Italy and his career has included being a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent Office, a Patent Adviser to the U.S. Air Force Dept. of Defense, and a Patent Adviser to, and positions with, various law firms, corporations and other government offices. He was Nominated for Appointment to the Federal Circuit by President Clinton in 1996 and confirmed in 1997.
