Russell represented the RIAA in the Napster litigation, and his litigation practice focuses in the areas of copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and entertainment law. A former chair of the firm's Litigation Department, he has also been chairman of the Copyright Subcommittee of the Intellectual Property Committee of the ABA's Litigation Section; a member of the arbitration tribunal of the American Film Marketing Association; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Twitty Milsap Sterban Foundation; and a Trustee of the CARE Foundation. Russell was named as one of Los Angeles' Top 50 Litigators for 1998 by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
