Leora Ben-Ami

Leora's practice includes all areas of technology, including biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and chemistry, mechanical devices, and electronics. She has tried many jury trials as lead counsel and has extensive appellate experience, having argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit several times and having clerked there. Leora has litigated approximately ten cases for Pfizer Inc. in the medical device area. Her long-standing representation of Pfizer has included such reported decisions as American Standard v. Pfizer, in which she represented Pfizer in invalidating a medical device patent and Schneider v. SciMed, where she obtained a judgment of approximately $68 million and a permanent injunction. Before coming to Kaye Scholer, Leora was a partner at Clifford Chance, where she was Chair of the Americas Intellectual Property Group.
