Named one of the top 25 intellectual property lawyers in California in 2003 by The Daily Journal, Mr. Ballon is the firm-wide co-chair of Manatt's Intellectual Property and Internet Practice Group. He represents technology, media, and entertainment companies in complex copyright, trade secret, Lanham Act, database and Internet law cases in federal and state courts and in licensing and counseling matters.

Mr. Ballon, who splits his time between the firm's Palo Alto and Los Angeles offices, is the author of the three-volume legal treatise, "E-Commerce and Internet Law: Treatise With Forms" (Glasser LegalWorks 2001, www.ballononecommerce.com).  He also serves as Executive Director of Stanford University Law School's Center for E-Commerce (http://lawtech.stanford.edu/ecommerce/).   In addition, Mr. Ballon is an Advisor to the American Law Institute's International Intellectual Property Jurisdiction Project and is Chairman of the Internet Law Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Science and Technology.
