Bill heads the firm's Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice Group. From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Baer served as Director of the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission, where he oversaw the Commission's antitrust enforcement efforts, including such matters as the successful court challenges to the Staples/Office Depot and drug wholesaler mergers, Time Warner’s acquisition of Turner Broadcasting System, the Ciba-Giegy/Sandoz mergers and challenges to the alleged exclusionary tactics of Toys 'R' Us and Intel.
