The eDiscovery Case Law Update: 2009 in review

December 09, 2009     01:00pm - 02:00pm Eastern

Agenda

Panelists

Looking back at 2009, there continue to be exciting developments in ediscovery. Back by popular demand, The Sedona ConferenceŽ Voices From the Desert webinar series brings you an update of the most recent case law to make sense of this quickly-evolving area of the law. Joining moderator Ken Withers, Director of Judicial Education and Content for The Sedona ConferenceŽ on the panel will be Hon. Craig B. Shaffer, United States Magistrate Judge from the District of Colorado; Hon. Sally Shushan, United States Magistrate Judge from the Eastern District of Louisiana; and Hon. Ben F. Tennille of the North Carolina Business Court.

While we cannot cover all of the e-discovery cases decided in 2009 in 60 minutes, our moderator has asked the panelists to discuss two or three cases in depth in each of six key issues areas. Then we will discuss the top three cases from 2009 nominated by you, the audience. You can nominate a case for discussion by sending the citation by email to the moderator at KJW@sedonaconference.org by 5 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, December 4. You may also include a question for the panel related to the case you nominate. Finally, everyone who registers for the webinar will receive a 40-page comprehensive annotated bibliography covering 135 reported federal and state e-discovery decisions handed down during 2009.

We invite you to register for the Webinar. But we also ask you to invite a friend or colleague who may be skeptical - a senior partner with a jaded view of litigation, or a junior associate who believes that "scorched earth" tactics impress clients. There is no additional charge for more than one person to participate from any one site. Bring a PC into the conference room, dial up on the speaker phone, and make it a thought- and dialogue-provoking event.

And as always, we will take your questions and comments by text during the Webinar and by live telephone at the end.
