Risks, Rewards & Repositories: Addressing the Use of Joint Repositories in Discovery

October 21, 2009     01:00pm - 02:00pm Eastern

Agenda

Panelists

In an increasingly complex litigation environment, participants often miss the forest for the trees. The parties are so focused on discovery that far more resources are spent on the mechanics of document and ESI production than on the legal controversy itself. Recent surveys tell us, and experienced litigators know, that common-sense cooperation between opposing parties can save time and money, and actually sharpen the genuine legal issues in dispute.

This month, The Sedona ConferenceŽ "Voices from the Desert" webinar series explores one concrete cooperative strategy - joint document and ESI repositories. Considered as part of a strategic embrace of The Sedona ConferenceŽ Cooperation Proclamation, the establishment of a joint repository helps the parties anticipate and constructively address a number of discovery issues, including form of production, confidentiality, cost sharing, and cost reduction.

This Webinar features a panel of experienced legal professionals who will provide the judicial, plaintiff, defense, and vendor perspectives on joint repositories. The panel will explore how trends such as "cloud computing" may make joint repositories the norm as opposed to the exception in civil litigation. Most importantly, the panel will provide insight on the key ingredient -- a well-thought-out protocol -- required to achieve success in this area. And as always, we will take your questions and comments by text and by telephone.

We are NOT seeking MCLE accreditation for this program.
