2008: The E-Discovery Case Law Update and Year in Review

January 15, 2009     03:00pm - 04:30pm Eastern

Agenda

Panelists

2008 was certainly a year of "interesting times," to quote the ancient Chinese blessing and curse. We experienced an historic election, an economic melt-down, and continued world tension. It was also a year in which we saw a number of landmark decisions handed down in the area of e-discovery. In what has become a popular feature in the Voices from the Desert webinar series, we bring you an update of the most recent case law and observations from two United States Magistrate Judges who are on the front lines of civil litigation: Hon. David Baker of the Middle District of Florida, and the Hon. Elizabeth Laporte of the Northern District of California.

While we cannot cover all of the more than 100 e-discovery cases decided in 2008 in 90 minutes, our moderator has asked each of the judges to select two cases for in-depth discussion, and he will select two of his own. Then we will discuss the top three cases from 2008 nominated by you, the audience. You can nominate a case for discussion by sending the citation by email to the moderator at kwithers@sedona.net by 5 p.m. Pacific time, Friday January 9. You may also include a question for the panel related to the case you nominate. Finally, everyone who registers for the webinar will receive a 30+ page annotated bibliography of the year's e-discovery case law.
