The Sedona ConferenceŽ, in association with the Academy of Court
Appointed Masters, is presenting its first-ever training program on
eDiscovery Dispute Resolution for Special Masters & Mediators on
Thursday-Friday, January 28-29, 2010, at the Royal Palms in Phoenix,
AZ. The program features a stellar faculty of judges, and experienced
e-discovery practitioners and experts drawn from The Sedona
ConferenceŽ Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and
Production (WG1), authors of The Sedona Principles and other
authoritative commentaries. The program materials will be drawn from
various Commentaries by The Sedona ConferenceŽ on eDiscovery issues as
well as from the Toolkits and Resources currently being developed to
support The Sedona ConferenceŽ Cooperation Proclamation, a national
effort to reduce the cost and contentiousness of discovery, already
cited in a dozen federal court opinions and endorsed by nearly 100
state and federal judges.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The training program is designed for experienced special masters,
mediators, arbitrators, and other legal and commercial dispute
resolution professionals (and those desiring to be such) who are
involved in - or anticipate involvement in - disputes in which the
preservation, collection, review, management, or evaluation of
electronically stored information will likely be an important issue or
issues.

LEARNING GOALS

Participants will be introduced to basic concepts, engage in dialogue
with experts, and explore tested dispute resolution strategies in the
following areas:

- Preservation of ESI
- Scope and Proportionality in eDiscovery
- Cost Allocation
- The Use of Search Terms & Other Cost-Effective Automated Search Technologies
- Appropriate Forms of ESI Production & Supervision of Forensic Inspections
- Privilege Issues in eDiscovery
- Sanctions for Culpable Conduct in Discovery

program is $1195, $1095 if you are a member of The Sedona ConferenceŽ
WG1, or a Fellow of the Academy of Court Appointed Masters (please
indicate if you are in one of these groups on your registration form
to get the $100 credit). To ensure an intimate environment for
meaningful dialogue and effective training, this program is strictly
limited to 50 registrants, on a first-come, first-served basis.
